Onslaught is the evolution of the former Overrun mode, rebuilt around one idea: skip the warm-up and get straight to the pressure.
Choose your ship, choose three starting augments, launch directly into Sector 51, and fight for a place on the global Steam leaderboard.
Build Your Run Before the Fight Begins
Every Onslaught Tactical run starts with a decision.
Pick your ship, then choose three first-level augments to define your opening build. Go all-in on damage, build for survival, improve mobility, or create a setup that fits the way you play.
Then the run begins at Sector 51 with zero score.
From that point on, everything has to be earned.
Harder From the First Second
Arcade remains the standard Nova Swarm experience.
Onslaught is for pilots who want something more demanding.
You enter the game deeper into the difficulty curve, without credit for the sectors you skipped. Your supplied starting augments give you a build to work with, but they do not award free progression.
Onslaught Tactical awards full career XP for eligible actions performed during the run.
Your score starts at zero. Your leaderboard position starts at zero. What happens next is yours.
A Separate Global Steam Leaderboard
Onslaught Tactical has its own global Steam leaderboard.
Every run can become a new record. Beat your personal best, chase the pilot above you, experiment with another ship or loadout, and go again.
The leaderboard is built around Onslaught’s own rules, so these scores stand on their own.
Different ship. Different augments. Different plan.
That is the heart of the mode.
New Challenges to Master
Onslaught also introduces a new set of achievements built around the mode.
Some reward deep runs and boss kills. Others encourage experimenting with different ships, starting builds, augments, and ways of surviving under pressure.
Sector 51 is only the beginning. The real challenge is to keep adapting your build, survive the escalating pressure, and push as deep as you can.
The more you play, the more you can refine your strategy, improve your build decisions, and find new ways to go further.
