We want to thank you all for the incredible support! We are truly humbled by your reception, and we wanted to share some more details about the gameplay. Bear in mind, Sunset Survival: Miami is still under active development, and many things can change.
Your Base: The Abandoned Island
You start on an abandoned island located just off the coast of Miami. The island is currently in bad shape, but it holds a lot of potential. To clear it out and build new structures, you will need to head into the city to collect resources. At the start, your travel options are limited, like a trusty old boat, but as you progress, you'll unlock more advanced ways to travel.
As your journey continues, new survivors will join your base. You can spend your hard-earned resources to upgrade your stats and build structures that unlock completely new gameplay options.
The City: High Heat, High Danger
But to build up your base, you'll first need to survive the city, which is much harder than it looks.
You start your day in the morning as the sun rises. The city is calm, making this your best opportunity to prepare, scavenge for firearms, grab melee weapons, and find vital items to help you survive. As time ticks by, the heat increases, and so does the danger. Expect to see more enemies, including tougher types that only appear later in the day or in specific regions of the map. Be prepared, because once you run out of ammo, your best option is to run like hell!
If things get too hot on the open streets, you can always duck into one of the many interiors waiting to be explored. Just because they look peaceful at first doesn't mean they'll stay that way. Many of them hide secrets waiting to be uncovered, which hold the keys to unlocking new portions of the city.
Get In, Get Out
Once you've had enough or your inventory is completely full, you need to find a way back home. Use that rusty boat you came in, or locate a lawn chair strapped to propane tanks, just get back to base. If you die, all your loot is left behind and lost forever.
To progress through the game, you'll have to complete quests given to you by a wide cast of characters. Some of them might be imaginary and living right in your head, while others are a bit more grounded... but no less insane.
