Hi all,
We got a ton of love for the new rainforest region teaser we posted last week. Sit tight because this week we are revealing another new region!
Scorching heat waves, endless sandscape... Welcome to the desert.
We've also been reworking passenger gameplay. Instead of the current passenger fill rate, stations will now have a passenger pool that gradually replenishes over time. They represents how many passengers are currently waiting at a station. When your train departs, the passengers you pick up are removed from that pool. Run the same route back-to-back, and you may quickly deplete the pool. You'll then need to either wait for more passengers to arrive or switch to a different route. Hopefully this is more intuitive than the current system.
Finally, we want to clarify our plans for the Vibe Train Demo. Most of the development work we've shown in dev logs and on social media since August is not currently available in the demo. In fact, the Steam demo hasn't been updated for over a month, which has caused some confusion. Like will the demo be updated again? Are all these new features only coming to the full game?
So, to clarify: while we probably won't bring new cars, regions, and items to the demo, we do plan to update it with most of the new mechanics and gameplay reworks we've been showing off.
The main reason this hasn't happened yet is that our ongoing work on the full game has made it difficult to maintain both versions in parallel. Once we've sorted these issues out, we plan to dedicate some time to a proper demo release, bringing over as many of the new mechanics and improvements as reasonably possible. Then hopefully the demo can become a more accurate reflection of how the game looks like in our latest development. So stay tuned!
