Thank you for everything you have sent in since v0.3.4 and previously. The clearest message was that the first hour asked too much: how to move, how to shear, what to do next. This update is mostly about that.

Knowing what to do next

• An objectives list 📋. A clipboard slides out from the left when the farm has something new for you, writes it in pencil, and ticks it off when it’s done. Each farm has its own list, and it teaches in order, so it never points you at something you can’t open yet.
• Hints when you look stuck 💡. Early on, a line at the top of the screen tells you what to do next: open the gate, push the sheep through it, fill a dry water trough (click and hold), or let your new dog out of the kennel. Each one only appears until you have done it once. There's more I'd like to add here but this is a flavour.
• A pressure radar 🔴. A red circle on the ground around the farmer, and around a working dog, shows how close the sheep will let you get before they move off. A bark shows as a ring bursting out from the dog. It appears for your first two round-ups, and for a dog’s first two once you have one. After that you can switch it back on in Settings.

Shearing

• A short how-to-shear video ✂️ plays the first time you shear: hold to cut, let go before the clippers get hot. The “?” in the shearing screen brings it back any time.
• Shearing assist 🤝. Tick it in Settings and you can hold the button for the whole shave; the clippers never overheat. For anyone who finds the hold-and-let-go rhythm hard.

Winter ❄️

• When your father hands over the feed trough in your first Winter, he now leaves you a sack of feed too, so a flock can’t go hungry just because the money was spent before you knew feed was a thing.

Settings and screens

• Settings ⚙️ has a new Gameplay tab, with shearing assist and the pressure radar (Auto, Always or Off).
• The game now opens on the Lemur Tango Games logo, and every screen change fades in and out instead of cutting.
• There’s a Join the Discord button on the title screen.

Fixes 🐛

• Quitting on a Mac no longer sometimes hangs on a spinning wheel. I'm still not 100% sure on what was causing this and I think it had been hiding in the previous builds. If this happens to you please get in touch 🙏
