Major Update 1.3 — Crew & Cargo is here!
Ahoy, adventurers!
When we first announced the Crew & Cargo Update, our chart looked simple enough: permanent crew progression, rescued recruits, persistent equipment, Deck Cargo, better storage, and deliveries from Franek the parrot.
We built every bit of it. Then the update did what updates sometimes do — it refused to stop growing. Crew & Cargo became a much bigger rebuild of how an expedition begins, develops, and finally makes it home.
Your crew stays — if you make it worth their while...
Rescue castaways and invite them to join your permanent roster.
Permanent crew members remember their level, XP, stat points, class, passive, equipment, and inventory between expeditions.
Pick the crew for your next voyage, inspect every candidate, and keep the whole gang organized from the tavern.
Not every recruit has to stay. Send them on their way for a reward and a chance to pass what they learned on to the rest of your crew.
Too much loot? That is what the boat is for
Deck Cargo gives spare loot a temporary home when your crew's pockets are full.
Franek can carry overflow items back to the boat while you keep exploring the island.
Move, merge, retrieve, or sell cargo through the rebuilt storage and trade screens.
Once the island is cleansed, gather the survivors, sort out the final loadout, and decide what everyone gets to carry home.

The Ancient Chest has a few new tricks
Manage the hero and every permanent crew member from the Character Book and shared storage.
Complete Ancient Chest quests, level it up, unlock Crew Upgrades, and discover Ancient Boons.
Develop classes and master active skills across multiple expeditions.
Dig through the new item encyclopedia, achievement overview, clearer class guide, and expanded progression pages.

Every expedition deserves a proper send-off
Whether you cleanse the island, escape with the haul, or lose the crew, each outcome now gets its own expedition summary. See what your crew achieved, what came home, what was lost, how the Score Multiplier changed the result, and which rewards your returning adventurers earned along the way.
Survivors regroup at the boat, equipment and cargo are settled clearly, and major progression milestones finally get the celebration they deserve.
We sailed a little past the roadmap
The update also expands trading and storage, adds new tactical behavior and dangerous discoveries, improves combat feedback and AI previews, and brings a long list of balance, interface, localization, save, performance, and stability fixes.
This is our first major update for Chest & Compass: Isles of Vaultara. Existing profiles remain supported, while new profiles begin with a little more room and gold in the Ancient Chest.
We promised Crew & Cargo. Somewhere along the way, it grew into a much larger rebuild of the whole voyage — and we have deliberately kept a few surprises out of these notes.
And 1.3 is not the end of the voyage. Update 1.4 is already somewhere beyond the horizon, carrying a fresh set of surprises we are not quite ready to unpack yet. Keep a spyglass handy.
Thank you for sailing with us. Let us know who made it home, what they carried, and how your new crew is getting along!
