SYLVA v0.2.4 — Explore the Island, Mark Your Path
Hello, Sylvans!
This update brings a new island map, better navigation, combat improvements, and a long list of fixes for Eclipse nights, meteors, multiplayer, and world persistence.
🗺️ A New Way to Explore
Press M to open a hand-crafted map of the island, showing its terrain, forests, rocks, villages, piers, and boats.
The map opens with the whole island in view. Use the mouse wheel to zoom in on your surroundings.
Set waypoints by right-clicking the map. Your flag appears on the minimap and compass, along with its distance in meters. Right-click the flag again to remove it.
Selecting a marker from the map list now centers the view on its location.
NPC traders appear on your map after you meet them.
Undead appear on the minimap without cluttering the full island map.
The map and minimap no longer rely on a live camera render, reducing their performance cost.
⚔️ Combat & Enemies
Undead now close the distance before attacking instead of striking from too far away.
Fixed undead standing idle after a player respawns and an issue that left some undead unarmed.
Archers aim more accurately, and undead can notice players from farther away.
The Lich can now complete its attacks when hit. We also fixed a visual issue affecting the Lich.
Fixed undead sliding during combo attacks.
Added blood effects when melee weapons or projectiles hit flesh.
Animals no longer follow undead into fights.
🌑 Eclipse & Meteors
Rebalanced Eclipse enemy numbers based on the number of players.
Adjusted the brightness of Eclipse nights.
Meteors now damage player-built structures, while dealing less damage to players.
Fixed the timing of the meteor shockwave ring and meteor rocks floating in the air.
🌐 Multiplayer
Fixed issues that prevented clients from damaging enemies reliably or caused enemies to become invisible to them.
Archers now fire at distant client players.
The Eclipse red sky and moon now appear for clients.
Fixed a level-up notification that could remain stuck on a client's screen.
Meteor impact flashes no longer appear for players who join after the impact.
💾 World & Saving
Death bags now persist through saving and loading, including any quest items inside.
World loot containers refill after five in-game days.
Added daytime forest ambience and shoreline ocean sounds.
🎨 UI & Localization
Fixed level-up and event notifications and moved them to the top of the screen.
Made more than 900 translation fixes across all 10 supported languages.
Added an over-the-shoulder third-person camera.
Thanks for playing SYLVA and sharing your feedback. See you on the island!
