Greetings Aspiring Immortals,
Hope everyone is having a great start to summer! Lots of work this week went into a road generation that ultimately was too unstable to include but so much learned for the next attempt. As a means offering some clues in the terrain, the land that is most suitable for buildings (not all the land that is suitable) is now dirt. These can often look like a path traveled drawing you toward buildings.
Another goal that I am chipping away at is how smart it feels to be the lich. At the moment the UI is not very informative and since it's the control panel inside the lich's mind, it should be very intuitive. Two big changes in that direction are a map and hotkeys on display. The map is small in the corner but is zoomed in which the scroll wheel. On the map, characters are replaced with icons for quick decoding. Some clipping with larger and more elevated cliffs might happen as I work out the scale things will ultimately dial into.
The final changes were aimed at expanding the control as the lich and when possessing the zombified as well; The drag ability as the hand now has two forms and activations from the left mouse button. If you Left Click, the drag will only grab the Seed if it is near. Left Mouse Button Hold will activate the previous Drag which selects the nearest two (at first level) allies. Left Clicking when the Seed is following will detach the tether.
Left Mouse Click - Toggles making the Seed follow if near it on activation
Left Mouse Hold and Release - Toggles making nearest allies (Seed or Zombie) follow on activation
