The biggest combat update yet. Every class now has a full set of unique abilities, a new HUD to use them from, and two display fixes that make your character's stats finally tell the truth.
Class Abilities (v2.4.0)
13 Abilities Per Class
Each class has 13 unique abilities spread across four tiers - Basic, Core, Advanced, and Ultimate. They unlock as you level your class combat skill, so there is always something new to look forward to as you progress.
Every class plays differently. Phaseblades get in close and exploit windows. Channelers deploy drones and traps that build up charges. Weavebreakers unload AoE blasts. Empaths sustain through long fights. Aetherborn lock enemies down and absorb punishment.
Ability Bar HUD
A new ability bar appears in the Dungeon HUD showing all your unlocked abilities at a glance:
- Cooldown fill animations so you know exactly when each ability is ready
- Charge badges on charge-based abilities (Channeler drones, traps, beacons)
- GCD overlay ring showing the global cooldown window
Manual and Auto Modes
You control how abilities are used:
- Manual mode - you decide when to fire each ability
- Auto mode - abilities fire automatically when ready, with cooldowns doubled for balance
- Ultimate abilities are always manual - they never auto-fire, so you choose your moment
- Auto mode never burns your last charge on a charge-based ability
Automation Setting
A new setting in the Dungeon automation panel - "Use Abilities in Auto-Run" - controls whether abilities fire during automated runs. Turn it off if you want to save cooldowns for when you are watching.
Pack Strip - Enemy Wave Display
When a dungeon wave has two or more enemies, a row of enemy chips now appears below the combat area showing each enemy's HP bar and active debuffs. The currently targeted enemy glows red. No more guessing who is still alive in a big wave.
Strength Scaling
Ability damage now scales with your STR stat (or its class equivalent - Dexterity, Intellect, etc.). Investing in Strength is now meaningful for every class, not just Aetherborn.
Bug Fixes (v2.4.1)
Two display bugs fixed that made your character look weaker than they actually are. The game was always using the correct numbers - these were purely visual issues.
Inventory - Combat Stats Panel
The "Combat Stats" panel in the Inventory sidebar was only counting your equipped gear. Your class base stats were missing entirely.
A Phaseblade has +8 Precision and +5 Dexterity built into their class. If you had no gear with those stats, the panel showed 0 - even though every fight used those bonuses correctly.
The panel now shows your real total: class base + gear + gems + inscriptions + rebirth bonuses. A note under the title confirms what is included.
Meditation - Skill Task Tooltip
Hovering over a skill task to see the speed breakdown was missing the Meditation focus contribution. The bonus was always active in the background - your tasks were actually running faster - but the tooltip did not show it.
You will now see "Meditation - Speed" and "Meditation - XP" listed in the breakdown. This applies to all task types, and no-tool tasks (Melee, Cooking, etc.) now show a summary chip on the card itself so you can see your active meditation bonus without hovering.
Your characters have always been as strong as they should be. Now the UI actually shows it.
