A tidier scenario list
- The scenario list is now grouped: Base Game first, then each DLC, with every campaign's chapters gathered under the campaign in story order.
- Click a heading to open or close it. The game remembers which groups you left open.
- Search still finds any scenario and opens the groups that hold it.
- Local Battle Setup and the network lobby use the same grouped list, in place of a very long drop-down.
Training Grounds: four new drills and a Wonders chapter
- Special Abilities: watch an engineer raise a barricade through the Abilities ring, then heal a wounded comrade with your surgeon. Covers costs, uses per battle and why a slice is greyed out.
- Runes & Amulets: freeze a Norman line with a Frost amulet and learn what Fire, Tornado, Quake, Magma and Whirlpool do before you spend one. The drill's runes are its own; nothing is taken from your treasury.
- Searching the Field: mend a wounded soldier at an old well, open a chest, read a headstone, and learn why searching is a gamble.
- Your Satchel: use a Healing Draught and learn where items come from.
- Dangers and Wonders owners get their own chapter: Faction Wonders, Legendary Wonders and Battle Magic.
- The trainer now points at the real Pass, Next, Abilities and Cast Spell buttons beside your soldier.
Story tools for campaigns
- Campaign chapters can branch: a choice made during a battle can send a campaign down a different road, or open an alternate-history campaign.
- Scenarios can now be won by an action (an audience won, a verdict given) as well as by a body count.
- Heroes can gain new abilities as their campaign advances, and join a campaign only once their chapter arrives.
- Abilities can raise or lower a side's morale, spread fear among the enemy, or ready a unit to move or fire again.
Fixes
- Bless now really protects a steady unit from breaking for its grace turns.
- Crossbowmen, longbowmen and archers from expansions show their own art instead of a generic placeholder.
- An army forming up at the start of a battle is no longer placed inside a house.
The free demo has been updated to 0.9.5.1805 as well, so demo players get the grouped scenario list, the new Training Grounds drills and the fixes too.
