Today we are officially announcing that Midnight Hotel is in active development with a planned release in 2027. This is a big moment for us and we wanted to share it with you as soon as possible.
For those who just found the page: Midnight Hotel is a cooperative survival multiplayer game where you take on the role of hotel staff working the night shift. You check in guests, manage the property, and keep everything running smoothly while murderous creatures lurk in the corridors, ready to eliminate anyone who gets in their way. But you cannot let the chaos win, because dissatisfied guests and an empty wallet can end your run just as easily as any monster.
This is our debut on Steam. Lousy Developers is currently a two person team, which obviously has an impact on how fast we can move. But limited resources do not mean limited commitment. We are pouring everything we have into this project and we are not stopping until we deliver something we are proud of and you will actually enjoy. We also want to be transparent about how we make the game. As described on our store page in the AI Generated Content section, we use generative AI tools to assist in creating certain assets such as 3D models, textures, sound effects, and graphical elements. There is no AI Slop here. Every piece of AI assisted content goes through our team, gets manually reviewed, adjusted, and approved before it makes it into the game. AI is a tool that supports our creative process, not a substitute for quality or a shortcut to ship something half baked.
We plan to keep you updated on our progress regularly. If you have not done so already, add the game to your Steam wishlist and come join us on Discord. That is the best place to stay in the loop, ask questions, and talk directly to the developers, which is quite literally just the two of us.
