Unfortunately, old saves aren't compatible with this update. We've added a V29 branch that you can switch to in case you were in the middle of a playthrough and don't want to start over (right click on the game in your steam library, then properties, then Game Versions & Betas, and then pick version29). This stinks and we'll work on the save system so it doesn't happen in the final version.
Overhauled how mysteries get started. Previously they could only start after doing certain activities. Since there aren't that many reasons to do certain activities, this could result in some players never starting them. The new system allows triggering “outside” mysteries from any activity (with a higher chance at relevant areas), while “rest/camp” mysteries still require that particular activity. In short, everyone should be able to start every mystery regardless of playstyle now (unless that playstyle is spending the entire season sleeping).
Fixed another potential soft lock when opening the door and listening to the knocks during the Antiques mystery (Unrelated to PC region. That code was... haunted).
Improved controller icons for most gamepads.
Revised red palette
Activity animations now require clicking to continue. An option was added under the “Game” settings so that you can switch back to the old behavior of returning to the menu as soon as the animation is over if you prefer it.
Added tooltips to the top toolbar buttons.
Bar can now be used/investigated in the afternoon instead of just night.
Added stat requirements to the journal (after seeing them) for every mystery.
Added a slight hint after failing to rescue Diego and rejecting a certain offer to better indicate that he can be rescued.
Added a little extra dialogue after obtaining the book to hint that it can be investigated
More changes are likely for the full version, but we wanted to hit some of the common points Next Fest players had trouble with before moving on.
