The next major update for the Bobo and the Chest of Nightmares demo is now available, bringing entirely new ways to play, fresh challenges, and quality-of-life improvements based directly on your amazing feedback!
Here is everything included in today's patch:
🕹️ Modern vs. Retro Mode Selection: When starting a New Game, you will now be greeted with a Gameplay Mode Selection screen. You can now choose exactly how you want to experience the madness. Stick to modern conveniences or switch to Retro for that authentic, unforgiving '90s platformer feel.
👻 Ghostly Encounters on Replays: Going back to hunt down those missing collectables? When you replay a level, the monsters you defeated in your previous run will now return as ghosts. This completely changes the dynamic of the level and offers a brand-new gameplay challenge to keep you on your toes!
⏱️ Time Trial Mode: Think you have fully mastered Bobo's acrobatics? Once you finish the demo for the first time, you will unlock the new Time Trial Mode. Beat the clock, prove your platforming speed, and you will be rewarded with the elusive 3rd Echomare!
⚙️ Main Menu Settings: Quality of life matters! You can now access and tweak all of your game, control, and audio settings directly from the Main Menu before you even jump into the action.
✨ UI Visual Overhaul: The User Interface has received a fresh coat of paint, providing a much spookier, more polished experience across all menus and HUD elements.
As always, a massive thank you to everyone playing the demo and sharing your thoughts. Your feedback in the Discord is what makes these updates possible. I can't wait to see your Time Trial speedruns!
If you are enjoying the demo and want to support a solo dev, please don't forget to add the game to your Wishlist!
Grab your umbrella and leap back in!
Have fun, David Ho
