PolitiSim update: Community Feedback Pass 1
Thanks to everyone who left a review or posted in the hub. This update is built directly from that feedback.
The primary map now makes sense
- Every candidate in the primary has their own color on the map and in the legend. States tint toward the projected leader and turn solid once they've voted.
- Hover any state to see the date it votes and the top candidates.
You can see the primary calendar
- The top bar's "Next" chip points at the next contest ("Super Tuesday (15 states) · in 2 weeks").
- The Primary Election tracker opens with an upcoming-contests strip, and every state card says when it votes. States that haven't voted yet sort first.
- The state panel shows "Votes in 3 weeks (Mar 5)" next to the delegate count.
One set of polling numbers
- The state panel, the primary tracker, and the map tooltip now show the same numbers for the same state. The state panel shows the full field, and switches to the final result once a state has voted.
Mass-deploy volunteers
- Campaign HQ → Field Operations has a "Deploy to battlegrounds" button that spreads your reserve across the five tightest, soonest states. The button shows the cost before you click.
Tooltips stay on top
- Tooltips and help popovers no longer hide behind the map.
Debates are shorter and repeat less
- 10 questions per debate instead of 12, questions are shuffled per campaign, and rivals have seven counter-punch prompts instead of three.
- Keyboard: 1–3 to answer, Enter to continue.
Balance: surrogates
- At most 3 surrogates per state, with diminishing returns. A state can no longer swing 20 points from a surrogate pile-on.
- The momentum bump from sending a surrogate pays once per rest window.
Scenario briefings
- Forge the New Deal, Year of Fire '68, and Hope on the Edge '08 now have their own briefing text and strategic notes.
