Developer Note #5
Hello.
I'm the developer of Three Kingdoms: Alias.
I'm writing this developer note to share an update on the development of v0.6.0.
Today, I have prepared some GIFs to show how much progress has been made on the combat system renewal.
Please keep in mind that it is still very much under development.
First, this is a field battle.
Huang Zhong's archers have taken position on a hill, while Liu Bei holds the line and Zhao Yun's cavalry charges in.
Being on a hill increases vision by +1, which also makes it advantageous for gathering information.
Second, this shows a transport setting up a supply base and supplying provisions during a field battle.
A green supply line connects to Liao Hua's unit, which had run out of Carried Food, and fills its provisions back up.
Zhao Yun is outside the supply range, so supplies cannot reach him and his provisions have been depleted.
Additionally, in the unidentified area at the upper right, you can see the coordinates where Zhuge Liang and Huang Zhong predict the enemy to be.
Zhuge Liang's prediction is reliable, but Huang Zhong's prediction may or may not be correct.
Third, this shows the attacking side of a siege.
Liu Bei's infantry has completed a Ram, while Huang Zhong's archers are still constructing a Siege tower.
Because there is no vision on top of the walls, enemies are only briefly revealed when they attack. Once Huang Zhong's Siege tower is completed, it will provide vision over the walls.
Liu Bei's Ram strikes the gate and reduces its durability.
Fourth, this shows the defending side of a siege.
The infantry on the wall throws stones at enemies in the tile directly below.
Xiahou Dun has come out through the side gate and taken a detour, and you can also see the facilities installed inside the walls.
Please feel free to leave your feedback.
I will continue working diligently so that I can release the update as soon as possible.
I will see you again in the next developer note.
Thank you.
