Hey everyone,
This is not a normal patch.
IRONBLOOD has had a complete visual rebuild. The entire interface has been redesigned, every major screen has been reworked, the remaining old artwork is gone, and fights now play out through a completely new combat viewer.
Honestly, it feels like a brand new game.
The whole game now shares one proper visual identity.
Every major interface has been redesigned.
New layouts, panels, buttons, typography and screen transitions throughout.
Information is clearer without losing the heavy black, iron, blood and gold atmosphere.
Character portraits have been reframed and relit across the game.
Navigation, stat displays, cards, popups and interaction screens have all had another pass.
The remaining placeholder buttons and temporary icons have been removed.
Screens now feel like different parts of the same empire instead of separate pieces built at different times.
If you played IRONBLOOD before this update, you will notice the difference immediately.
The empire has been rebuilt
The remaining anime-style backgrounds are gone.
Every Rival House now has new low-poly environment art.
All 16 upgrade illustrations have been replaced.
New low-poly scenes now carry through the game’s houses, arenas, menus and progression screens.
Colour grading has been unified across backgrounds, portraits and interface elements.
Darker screens have been rebalanced so you can actually see the characters without losing the grim atmosphere.
The opening sequence and Save and Load screens have had their remaining placeholder artwork replaced.
This is the visual direction for IRONBLOOD going forward.
The old fight presentation has been replaced with a new low-poly combat viewer.
Every fight now uses the new fighter models.
Fighters have rougher skin, dirty wraps, worn trunks and textures built to match the rest of the game.
Expanded animation coverage for strikes, blocks, counters, takedowns, stand-ups, knockdowns, ground exchanges and finishes.
Punches now connect when the damage is actually dealt.
Fighters stay properly positioned during close-range exchanges instead of walking through each other.
Knockdowns and falling animations stay above the arena floor.
Fighters no longer disappear during certain animation transitions.
The old combat models no longer flash on screen while a fight loads.
It is still a management simulation rather than a fighting game, but watching a fight now
properly shows you what the simulation is doing.
The whole fight interface has had a full feedback pass.
New JRPG-style damage numbers appear where a strike lands.
Heavy shots, counters, knockdowns and finishes get much stronger visual treatment.
Health, stamina and momentum changes are easier to follow.
Knockout visuals are now connected to the real fight state.
Legal knockdowns correctly increase the knockdown counter.
Improved hit timing, impact feedback and fight pacing.
Fast is now the default viewing speed. Slow, normal and instant remain available.
A clean jab should read like a jab. A fight-ending shot should feel like one.
The Blood Chalice has been completely redesigned.
It is now a blackened-iron and aged-brass relic with a ruby blood reservoir, animated filling and much more detail. It finally looks like one of the empire’s most important objects rather than a temporary HUD icon.
Fighters are brighter and clearer during press conferences.
Interaction-screen portraits no longer disappear into the background.
Improved portrait exposure across the game.
Better consistency between character art, combat models and screen lighting.
Cleaner framing and readability on character-heavy screens.
Loads of smaller visual, animation and interface fixes across the game.
This update has touched almost every screen in IRONBLOOD.
If you played at launch and bounced off the presentation, this is the version I wanted you to see. The game underneath is still IRONBLOOD, but the experience of actually playing it has changed completely.
Cheers,
Jack
