🔧 Update v0.2.45 — Off-Thread Autosaving, Terrain-Weighted Pathfinding & Okun's Law
Hello Commanders!
This update introduces asynchronous background autosaving and dynamic army movement speeds. It also delivers Economy Deluxe 3.0 upgrades, multiplayer desync fixes, and pathfinding performance optimizations.
💾 Performance: Asynchronous Background Autosaving
Freeze-Free Saving: Autosaving has been re-engineered to run on background worker tasks off the main thread. This completely eliminates the ~2-second frame freeze/stutter when the game autosaves, keeping your gameplay seamless.
🥾 Terrain & Infrastructure-Weighted Pathfinding
Burst-Compiled Pathfinding: Upgraded the land pathfinder to a weighted A* system.
Dynamic Speed Multipliers: Army movement speeds now scale realistically based on local terrain (mountains and deserts slow troops down) and province infrastructure development (constructing roads and highways speeds up movement up to +100%).
Speed Segment Indicators: Path routes and hover-previews are now dynamically colored by travel speed (lighter segments indicate faster traversal).
Zero-Stutter Performance: Fully optimized pathing calculations to be completely garbage-collection-free (GC-free) to prevent micro-stutters during troop movements.
📊 Economy Deluxe 3.0
Okun's Law Unemployment: Overhauled national unemployment. Replaced the flat universal target with country-specific structural NAIRU rates. Unemployment fluctuations are now driven by GDP changes relative to trend growth using Okun's Law.
Global Trade Clearing: Implemented international trade clearing. World import totals now scale dynamically to match global exports, preventing infinite cash generation from international trade data discrepancies.
Deficit-Inflation Saturation: Bounded the fiscal-deficit inflation channel. Deficit ratios are clamped to 30% of national GDP to stabilize micro-state economies and prevent hyperinflation spirals.
Sovereign Debt Realism: Curated realistic real starting Debt-to-GDP percentages for 30 major global economies.
🌐 Multiplayer & Transit Fixes
Auto-Transport Marker Fix: Resolved a visual bug where auto-transport army markers would snap back to their source province during sea transit.
Desync Hardening: Hardened lockstep state-hashing for army entities, resolved stable unit ID backfill bugs, and improved resync stall recovery.
⚡ Game Performance
Pathing Memory Optimizations: Cached configuring accessibility queries, reducing path-finding overhead on large-scale maps to maintain high frame rates on lower-spec and low-RAM devices.
