Snow
- The six snow types now look different from each other. Powder, packed, chopped, groomed, wet and icy each have their own surface shape, not just a slightly different white.
- Snow has real texture on it. Grain, lumps and a fine normal break up the surface instead of a flat wash of colour.
- Sparkle needs sun. Glints don't fire at night, in shadow, or through a storm, and they stay put on the ground as you move the camera instead of sliding around.
- Sparkle thins out with distance, so a far-off face reads as a sheen rather than a field of stars.
- Powder sparkles the most. It's a cue you can read from the lodge.
Landscape tools
- Smooth is its own tool again. It pulls the ground under the brush toward the local average without dragging it out of its difficulty band.
- New Roughen tool: the opposite of the groomer. It builds moguls at a fixed size, so painting the same spot deepens them instead of piling up noise.
- Flatten levels to the average height under the brush. Flattening over a hole fills the hole now, instead of pulling everything down into it.
- Raise and Lower have falloff options, and the soft edge on every brush is twice as wide.
- Card labels are shorter. Smooth, Flatten, Raise, Lower. Smooth Snow keeps its name so the two Smooths stay apart.
- Grade is off for now. Five different versions of it each traded one artifact for another, and none of them left a mountain looking right. It'll come back when it works.
Slope difficulty
- Slope grades are retuned to match real resorts. Green tops out around a 25% grade, blue around 40%, and anything past 35 degrees is expert.
- Your existing runs get reclassified on load, and most will come out steeper than they were.
Buildings
- Bakery replaces the old food stall version.
- Convenience Store is now the General Store, and the snow sculpture is a Snowman.
- Buildings that aren't finished yet are marked Coming Soon in the build menu.
- Guests heading back to the ticket office walk to the door instead of the middle of the building.
Performance
- Snow rendering is a good chunk cheaper across the board.
- Terrain sculpt data uses about 20 MB less memory.
Interface
- Fixed the missing arrows in the annual report trends and the staff hiring sort, and the Lower and Flatten icons in the radial menu.
