🌐 ONLINE UPDATE: RIKOGOL v1.7.0 IS OUT NOW
This update is all about playing online: smoother matches, safer rooms, dedicated prep time for Head Coaches, an atmosphere picked by the host and an estimated ping for every open match.

⚡ SMOOTHER ONLINE MATCHES
When you join someone else's room, your game now draws the whole pitch on one timeline: the ball, your own disc and every other player move on the same clock. Before, your own disc was drawn slightly ahead of everything else, which caused two problems: a kick that touched the ball on your screen but didn't count, and discs that seemed to pass through each other. That cause is gone, so both are now much rarer.
- Every input packet you send now carries your last four inputs, so a lost packet no longer costs you a move.
- Position and input updates now go out right away instead of being held back briefly to be bundled with other data.
- When you play with someone on the same local network, Steam can now connect you directly instead of going through its relays.
- On 120 Hz and 144 Hz screens, movement is now drawn smoothly between the game's 60 updates per second, in every mode: online, Training and two players on one PC.
📋 HEAD COACH PREP TIME

In rooms with Head Coach Mode on, whenever a player is in a Head Coach seat, every match now starts with a short prep: the clock stops, the ball stays on the kickoff spot and players can move freely in their own half while the Head Coaches set up their formation. The same prep comes at half time.
- Everyone sees the banner “Head Coaches are preparing · 0:17” and whether each team is ready. The other team's formation stays hidden.
- Each Head Coach presses I'm ready: R on the keyboard by default, or the top face button on a controller (Y on Xbox, △ on PlayStation). You can rebind it as Ready (Head Coach) in Settings › Controls.
- The prep ends once every team with a Head Coach is ready, or after 20 seconds at the latest. At half time it always lasts at least as long as the usual 5-second break.
- A team without a Head Coach counts as ready, and there is no prep after goals.
- If a team already has a Head Coach, a second one now waits with the coach tools off until the seat opens up.
🛡️ SAFER ROOMS

- Each team now has its own kick vote, and both teams can vote at the same time.
- A vote that isn't decided within 30 seconds is cancelled and can be started again.
- The vote panel now shows the player's jersey number and name, such as “#2 RushHour”.
- If a player who was voted off the pitch leaves and rejoins the same room, they come back as a spectator.
- The room password now stays set when everyone returns to the room after a match.
- If the host leaves, guests are no longer stuck: the room no longer offers to join a match whose host is gone, and Leave works even while you're still connecting.
❄️ THE ROOM'S ATMOSPHERE
The host now picks the atmosphere for online matches (Night, Day, Sunset, Snow or Rain) with the new Atmosphere row in the room's Host Settings. It defaults to the host's own choice in Settings, and a change applies from the next match. Everyone in the match sees it (players, Head Coaches and spectators alike), while your own setting stays untouched and comes back after the match.
Open Matches shows each room's atmosphere as a small badge. Training and two players on one PC keep your own setting.
📶 ESTIMATED PING IN OPEN MATCHES

Open Matches now shows an estimated ping for each room, worked out from Steam's network data, and lists the nearest rooms first. A dash means there's no estimate yet; it fills in by itself while the list is open. (The rooms and ping values in the picture are examples.)
✨ ALSO IN THIS UPDATE
- New Prediction setting in Settings › Video, with three modes. Balanced (the default) keeps the ball and every player moving smoothly, though on a slow connection your own moves appear slightly later. Full shows your moves instantly, but on a slow connection other players and the ball may jump. Consistent matches the host's view most closely, and your moves appear after your connection delay.
- The version tag in the main menu now reads “v1.7.0 — Online Update”.
💬 WHAT CURATORS SAY
“Pure skill, no rules! Two buttons, real physics, 11v11 with friends via Steam. One minute and you are on the pitch!” — OFEN™
“Rikogol is a superb arcade football game with fair physics. No fouls, no offsides, just pure skill. A cool feature is the coach role on the touchline. (translated from Russian)” — SOKOL- RUS
“A pretty enjoyable football game with simple controls but a fun physics system. It's nice to play with bots or with friends. (translated from Turkish)” — Türk Cemiyeti
📣 GOOD TO KNOW
Everyone in a room needs v1.7.0 to play together: a player on an older version gets a clear message from the host and can join after updating. Steam normally updates the game automatically.
See you on the pitch! 🔥
