The Bots Update brings computer players to Rikogol. Start a real match against bots the moment you launch the game, or let bots fill the empty seats in your online room until your friends show up. Bots play by exactly the same rules as you: same controls, same physics, same kick, same speed. No shortcuts, no extra powers.

🎮 PLAY RIGHT NOW

Open Training and pick Versus Bots. Choose the team size from 1v1 all the way up to 11v11, the stadium, the score limit, the time limit and the bot difficulty: Easy, Medium or Hard. The rest of your team and the whole other side are bots, and you play a real match with halves, full time and a result screen. It works offline, too.

🎯 A REAL MATCH, NOT A DRILL

Bots play actual football. The nearest one goes for the ball; when the other team has it, one drops back between the ball and its own goal; they shoot when they're in range, while the #1 guards the net. They hold their places in the formation, and on Hard they react faster, aim more accurately and pick better positions.

🏷️ EVERY BOT HAS A NAME

Every bot plays under a made-up gamer tag and wears a small BOT tag: on its name plate, in the room list, on the GOAL! banner and in the result screen's line-up. Your own name stays gold, so you always know which player is you.

🌐 BOTS IN YOUR ONLINE ROOM

Hosting a room and a few players short? Let bots fill the gaps.

• As the room owner, add or remove bots for each team with − and + on its team card, choose the Bot Difficulty, or switch on Fill Empty Seats with Bots. Everything takes effect when you press Apply.
• When a friend joins a team that's already full, they take over one of its bots on the spot: same disc, same number. That works mid-match too.
• If a player leaves mid-match while Fill Empty Seats with Bots is on, a bot takes over their seat.
• Bots count toward the room's 24 seats, but no human is ever turned away because of bots: a bot makes room first.
• Bots only play on the pitch. They follow the Head Coach's formation, but the Head Coach seat always belongs to a human.

🏆 WHEN DO ACHIEVEMENTS COUNT?

Achievements and stats count when at least one other human is on the pitch with you. A match where you're the only human among bots is pure practice: nothing is recorded. Bring a friend and everything counts as usual.

✨ ALSO NEW

• Training now opens a setup screen: jump straight into the solo practice you know, or set up a match against bots.
• The main menu tag now reads “v1.3.0 — Bots Update”.

🔧 FIXES

• The GOAL! banner is now fully opaque: confetti and the centre circle no longer show through it.
• In the room, the settings line under the title stays on one line and no longer runs into the title at the largest Text Size.

📣 GOOD TO KNOW

Everyone in a match needs the Bots Update: v1.3 and older versions can't join each other's rooms. A player on a different version isn't let in and sees a version message instead. Steam normally updates the game for you automatically.
