The first patch is here! Not too big features-wise.
The focus this time was streamlining how the keyboard learns. Instead of needing to open a separate panel, you can now report multiple bad suggestions or block words right from the list and continue on your way. They'll be bundled up into a single report, and no details are needed since the buttons you choose speak for themselves. This UI is a first draft, and more refinements are on the way. Hit me up on Bluesky if you have suggestion-suggestions!
The keyboard should also learn new words more often. Previously it would wait until you had typed two more words to be sure you weren't going to go back and edit, but this was too conservative. It may now learn typos more often, but I'll continue refining this as well. A lot of the internal changes were around making it easier to detect edits and adjust learning on the fly.
See you soon!
Itemized changelog below:
- Vocabulary update. Thanks for your reports so far!
- Reworked how manual typing and swipes are tracked. Scribeam should learn new words more often now.
- Added quick report and word blocking buttons to the suggestion list. Many suggestions can be reported at once, and they will all be sent together once you continue typing.
- Thumbs down reports the word as being a bad suggestion for what you tried to swipe.
- Trash blocks the word from appearing for you ever again. These can be managed in the learning tab of the settings window if you block something by accident.
- Behind the scenes cleanup and process improvements to prepare for future releases.
- The "previous" branch is now available in Steam for rolling back if something is broken.
