ENGAGE - Update to Version 4.2

NEW

Activity Logs

  • Added new IFX to the Experience Editor: 'Completion Event IFX' that allows for custom event logging in Experiences

  • Added events to capture when users start and end Experiences

Experience Editor

  • Added a Gaze Trigger that can activate effects when a user looks at it for a specified length of time

  • Added the ability to trigger quizzes for only the user who activates the trigger

  • Added the ability to set a time delay on triggered effects

  • Added the ability to add colliders to imported glb models

  • Added the ability to set glb models as interactive IFX so they can have physics applied to them or be used as object triggers

AI

  • Replaced Open AI Chat Completions method with the newer Responses API, following OpenAI’s recommendation for improved capabilities and long-term support

  • Simplified the User Interface of the Character builder to focus on important choices and hide advanced options

  • Introduced a new interaction method – ‘Hold to talk’. This sets the bot to listen while you keep the interaction button held down and immediately stops listening upon release.

  • Added a ‘chunk size’ option for Text-to-speech) to allow for creators to select their own trade-off between contextual understanding and processing speed.

  • Added OpenAI as a text-to-speech provider

  • Added OpenAI as a voice recognition provider. This is a dynamic multilingual model that can detect the spoken language as it is spoken. This model is selected by default

  • Added Elevenlabs as an optional voice recognition provider. This also provides dynamic multilingual voice recognition

  • Added the ability to select the ‘default model’ which will set the AI Model to be the ENGAGE recommended model, and update automatically as our recommendations change over time

  • Added a new function that allows the AI to deliver an ENGAGE (or LMS) quiz to the user and then receive the results to provide feedback to the user.

  • Added the ability to duplicate an existing AI character

  • Added a Function: “Load any IFX Object” - which searches the IFX library for the any available IFX and loads in the session

  • Added a Function: “Code Interpreter”, which allows the bot to run calculations and simulations to provide better answers to numerical problems

  • Added support for GPT 5.1

IMPROVED

  • Reduced CPU usage of Avatars

  • Improved login speed for users who are members of many groups

  • Improved load time on Experiences

  • Experiences now cache Cloud files as part of the experience loading process, eliminating 'pop in'

FIXED

  • Fixed an issue where some IFX stated that they had colliders, but they did not.

  • Fixed an issue on desktop where resizing the ENGAGE window could cause the UI to resize and get too small to be usable

  • Fixed an issue where, when users with access to many groups view Dashboards in Safari, it can cause the browser to freeze
