Hi everyone!
The Last Embrace Steam Demo is now available to download!
You can get it straight from the main game page here:
Here is what this demo contains:
Prologue and first 3 chapter available
2574 total renders
20 total animations
134.184 total words
16091 total lines of dialogue
8.5 hours total hours of reading across all paths
28 total music tracks
52 total SFX
in-game gallery
In-game Achievements system (not Steam-bound)
journal and codex system
phone and messages system
4 very distinct paths to chose in the prologue (consider them as alternate realities where characters may act different depending on the path and certain events unfold differently while the main plot stays similar), 2 romance paths and 2 ''solo'' paths where only casual encounters can take place with a more emotional and darker take on the story
This content is currently exactly the same as the latest game build coming on my other markets, 0.4.1_ch3 and will serve as a permanent demo here on Steam. There are no differences content vise, only main page links are different as Steam doesn't allow linking to other stores.
Achievements:
While I previously stated that Steam achievements will be available with the demo, this will not be the case. I was advised by the Steam team to not release achievements to the demo version, so while you can still collect achievements in-game and will be displayed inside the journal interface for achievements, they wont be credited in the steam client. That said, saves from the demo will be transferable to the full release and that also includes achievements you may have collected, meaning when you buy the game and load a save, achievements you already collected on that path will be automatically granted to you on the Steam client so you can start collecting those early.
About the game:
As this is a primarily a story focused visual novel with adult elements, there is currently only 3 lewd scenes in the game which unfold naturally as the story progresses. In this game, there will be no forced scenes just for the sake of it, story takes center stage and lewd content is icing on the cake. Also, while the game is vampire themed, most ''rules'' of the vampire genre don't apply here. In this game, my goal is to try something new, so there will not be already a established vampire society but instead, you as the protagonist and the last remaining vampire of the old and now extinct vampire race, will get to shape the future of the city this game takes place in, and possibly the world. Meaning, protagonist is a potential progenitor of a future, enhanced vampire race. As such, this game is very much a origin story of modern vampire society and future games are planned where this would be expanded upon. I am very much trying to build a sort of a universe here from the ground up. But choices very much do matter in this game, so you could either end up achieving this outcome, or something totally different as this is just one possible outcome out of a few currently planned.
As the game is still in development, there may be some missing renders and animations while the story content that is currently in this demo is final for Chapter 3 release. Likewise, I am still very much learning how to animate in Daz3D where the game is made and as such you may find current animations to be stiff and lacking polish. All of these things I aim to address in the final release as I learn them, which is currently TBA but expected either by the end of 2026 or sometime in 2027.
I hope you guys will like what is currently there and if you do, I would very much appreciate a wishlist to help me push the Steam algorithm.
