🩹 Difficulty & Balance
Runs now start with 2 Byts instead of 1
Defeating a boss now restores 40% max HP to your whole surviving party — the hardest fight in a floor finally pays you back
The Wandering Merchant now always stocks at least one healing item. Previously his randomized stock could roll all non-heals, which felt terrible when you sought him out at low HP
🗺️ Map Readability
The minimap now uses color to differentiate terrain instead of rendering everything in flat gray. Floors and walls are tinted to each floor's theme, and water, grass, locked doors, chests, keys, traps, switches, pillars, and server racks each have their own color alongside the existing shrine, boss, and merchant markers.
🐛 Critical Fix — Typing Freeze
Fixed the bug where typing would randomly stop responding mid-run, leaving ESC as the only working key. The typing field could silently lose focus (from clicking the game area, an overlay closing, the Steam overlay opening, or alt-tabbing) with no visual indication that anything was wrong. Input focus now restores itself automatically, and as a safety net, any keypress will recover a lost typing field. This applies to every typing screen: dungeon battles, VS CPU, VR waves, sneak attacks, and the training room.
⚔️ VS CPU Visual Parity
VS battles now have the same visual punch as dungeon battles:
Combo tier badge is now displayed, with the full-screen tier-up flash when you cross ×10 WARM, ×25 LOCKED IN, and beyond
"COMBO BROKEN" flash when a typo ends a streak of 10+
Opponents flash white when your sentence lands
CPU attacks now lunge with a slash effect instead of only flashing your screen
Defeated opponents play the disassemble animation
