Hello everyone,
Thank you again for continuing playing the demo and sharing your ideas! Based on your feedback and the roadmap, update 1.4 fundamentally changes the depth of the simulation. This update focuses heavily into the global economy, overhauling parts of combat, and heavily optimizing the engine so the late-game runs better than before.
New Feature: Tactical Combat & Warfare Overhaul
Dedicated Tactical Battle View: The battle viewer has been removed from the Inspector and transformed into a massive, centered floating window. Generic blocks have been replaced with vector-drawn troop icons (Shields, Cavalry, Archers, Trebuchets) that deploy in proper battlefield formations with new charge and regroup animations.(not final version)
Cinematic Historical Replays: Major battles are now permanently recorded in a nation's Chronicles. Players can click the "Watch Replay" link to open the Tactical View and watch the historical battle unfold dynamically, matching the exact troop counts that fought on that day.(not final version)
Visual Siege Progress: Armies actively laying siege to a province will now display a vertical gold progress bar next to their flag on the map.

Combat Pacing & Instant Reaction: Combat damage modifiers were rebalanced so battles now take in-game months instead of days, giving you time to observe and reinforce. Furthermore, AI nations now instantly wake up and march to the borders the moment a war is declared.
Battle Indicators: A visual spark indicator now appears on the map over armies engaged in active field battles to help you spot frontlines from a distance.
New Feature: Global Economy & Logistics
Strategic Resource Nodes: Biomes no longer guarantee resources. The map now generates strategic resource nodes (like Iron Veins, Spice Fields, Silver, and Gems). These nodes grant massive production bonuses, creating global scarcity and valuable geographical chokepoints.
Stockpile Buffs: Stockpiling luxury goods in a capital now provides empire-wide buffs. Amassing Silver or Gems triggers an increased tax efficiency and stability, while Spices or Dyes trigger a lower unrest and massive population growth.
Advanced Market Terminal: Upgraded the Market UI. Clicking a resource now draws a dynamic line graph tracking the last 100 weeks of global prices, and automatically filters the cheapest regional hubs in the world for that specific good.

Tariffs and Embargoes: Diplomacy now directly impacts trade. Neutral nations charge a 50% tariff to merchants, while Rivals or nations with low opinion will enact strict Embargoes, completely closing their ports to caravans. Trade agreements abolish tariffs entirely.
New Caravans Systems: Overhauled logistics AI. Caravans now act as freight trains, carrying up to 100 goods and scooping up surplus resources as they pass through friendly rural provinces, drastically reducing map clutter and lag.
New Feature: Naval Warfare & Blockades
Blockades: War fleets parked outside enemy coastal cities now draw a hostile red ring on the unit icon. Blockaded cities suffer a 75% economic penalty and slowly starve, forcing the AI to launch naval counter-attacks to break the siege.
Dynamic Detours: Trade caravans now intelligently detect active warzones and blockades, dynamically recalculating safe detours through neutral territory to avoid interception.
Naval Invasions & Shipwrecks: Fixed a bug where transport ships would try to sail onto dry land. Ships now correctly drop invading armies off at the nearest beach. Additionally, sinking a transport ship will now correctly drown the entire army trapped inside it.
Creation Tools & Quality of Life
Universal Content Deletion: Added a "Delete Selected" button to all five Designer Hubs (Nations, Cultures, Religions, Traits, and Governments). You can now permanently delete custom files or blacklist base-game content to build a 100% custom world from scratch.
Save Game Management: Added a "Delete Save" button directly into the in-game Save/Load menus so you can easily clean up old timelines without digging through your computer's local folders.
Smooth Camera Controls: Completely rewrote camera movement to include velocity interpolation for smooth acceleration, momentum, and 1:1 middle-mouse dragging.
Late-Game Stutter Fixes: Dismantled a mathematical trap that caused freezes during heavy construction and recruitment phases by introducing staggered nation caching.
Pathfinding Caching: Upgraded the pathfinding system to use inverted loops and spatial caching, dropping the CPU workload of late-game trade routes by over 90%.
Known issues that are being worked on:
Balancing late-game population growth and market oversaturation.
AI occasionally hoarding too much gold during extended periods of peace.
Minor UI scaling adjustments on certain ultra-wide resolutions.
Multiple emblems not properly fitting the flag window on units and on nation inspector
Stay tuned for the next update. Any feedback is greatly appreciated during demo build. If you have any requests for features, please send them as well. Until next time, Overdramatic Games
