Hello travelers!
It’s been some time since the last update, I’ve been working on the game while doing some tests and experiments with Godot & GDExtensions. I’m trying to find a good workflow, with reliable results and better performance in some mechanics of the game (and future ones). Some of them have been already implemented, others might come in the future if needed! I’m not trying to rework all the game, just to improve where it’s actually needed.
The 1.0 release it’s getting close, should be in the next weeks. I would appreciate feedback and bug reports before that comes, so the game it’s all the good it can be on release!
Important change
Reworked some systems on GDExtension (now are a external library). On windows should work as expected, but Linux couldn’t be properly tested. Please report any bugs on the Steam discussion forums! Remember that you can also change the branch to previous release to keep playing in case that something is broken :)
New content
Added UI animations
Updated the Map and the Probe Manager.
The main buttons now show a popup with the name instead of growing and showing the text inside. Makes it faster to hover around buttons without pressing the wrong ones.
Added a message for the stranded capsule detatch, to be clearer of why it fails.
Now only already discovered capsules can appear in the stranded capsule event.
Fixes & tweaks
Game loads faster - detected some unexpected loadings at game start, that was causing the game to take more time than it should.
Moved some systems to GDExtension to get some extra performance.
Fixed a bug with some late game dialogues.
Fixed a bug where you could pause and restart the game time scale while the game was already paused by a dialogue.
Texture packing and optimizations.
Fixed some small translation bugs.
Various other optimizations.
