OH SHIP! — LAUNCHING SEPTEMBER 25, 2026
After all the repairs, explosions, and scrap collecting, Oh Ship! is finally launching on September 25, 2026!
We've made a lot of changes since the demo, including improved combat, better respawning, new objectives, more items, and plenty of other improvements.
Here's what's changed:
WRECKS
Added a greater variety of themed rooms, including labs, engine rooms, and crew quarters.
Improved wreck lighting for a more varied and atmospheric experience.
Added interactable systems that allow all players to disable wreck security.
COMBAT
Combat has received a number of improvements and balance changes.
Improved difficulty scaling based on the number of warps completed.
Improved ship malfunction system.
Improved ship weapons, including a reload minigame and improved damage output.
Added shield decay — shields will now decay when they aren't powered.
RESPAWNING
We've made getting wiped out a little less painful.
If all players die during a wreck encounter, they will respawn back on their ship and the current wreck encounter will be failed.
If the ship is destroyed during a combat or environmental encounter, the ship will automatically restart without requiring players to return to the main menu.
GAMEPLAY
There's more to do than ever before.
Added a new objective NPC to the service station.
Added a final mission that allows players to complete the game.
Added a new tutorial level covering the basics of ship modules.
Added a global push-to-talk system in addition to proximity voice chat.
ITEMS
We've expanded the selection of things you'll find while salvaging wrecks.
Added a wider variety of valuable scrap items.
Players can carry up to 4 items.
Heavy items take up all 4 carry slots and are shown as “FULL” on the item UI indicator.
