It's time for the Hacks & Hazards update! This patch bring tons of new content, features and bug fixes to the game, and lays the groundwork for future updates!
I won't waste your time, here are the patch notes:
Major Additions & New Systems
Hacking System: Introduced a completely new hacking mechanic that allows you to hack NPCs, habitable planets, and stations.
New Faction: The universe expands with a brand new NPC faction, the Lucent Enclave.
Civilian Expansion: Added 5 new NPC ship variants to the Civilian faction.
Galactic Events: Space just got a lot more unpredictable with 30 new random galactic events that have a chance to trigger during your travels.
Mini-Quests: Certain galactic events now act as mini-quests, which can be tracked down via new color-coded ? markers on your map.
Fuel Depletion: Added dangerous new "Out of Fuel" scenarios that will trigger if you attempt to travel with 0 fuel in the tank.
Signals Overhaul
Event-Driven Signals: Signals have been completely reworked. They are now event-driven and trigger automatically as you move through space, rather than spawning as physical entities.
Dedicated Signal Menu: Added a brand new UI menu specifically for Signals, which displays the event text, your choices, and the relevant stat modifiers.
Ships & Balance
New Ships: Added three entirely new Tier 4 Archetype ships to the roster.
Tier 4 Rebalance: Adjusted overall Tier 4 ship balance to better align with their pricing and the recently implemented module system.
Ship Renames: The Phantom is now the Odyssey, and the Manticore is now the Dreadnought.
Junker Buff: Increased Junker module slots to 2 per type to fully deliver on the ultimate "junker" fantasy.
Gameplay & Immersion
Zero-G Camera: Added a subtle player camera bob to greatly enhance the feeling of floating in zero gravity.
Station Animations: Removed the vertical bobbing animation from space stations and replaced it with a much more realistic rotation effect.
User Interface & Quality of Life
New Recipes Menu: You can now easily track what you know. Once you craft an item for the first time, its recipe is permanently logged in this new menu.
Coordinate Readouts: Added a "Current Coordinate" display to the Contract Log, Minimap, and Nav Chart so you always know exactly where you are at a glance.
Objective Tracking: Added clear ! markers to the map for grid squares containing active contract objectives.
Bug Fixes
Shield Glitch: Fixed an issue where specific damage types could incorrectly push a ship's shield values into the negative.
Target Lock UI: Fixed a bug where using 'Jam Signal' or 'Disengage' would sometimes fail to close the target lock menu. Please restart Steam or Verify your files to download the update
