Starting today, some Lootborne items can be bought and sold on the Steam Community Market.
This first opening is deliberately cautious, to protect the game's economy from bots and cheaters. It's only the beginning: the system will grow over time, based on how this first phase goes and the data we collect. Among the options we're considering are tradable Mythics and new items, including limited editions, both regular and purely cosmetic. Nothing is decided yet: it all depends on how things go.
When you can sell
- Only items obtained from September 28 at 3:10 PM CEST (01:10 PM UTC) onwards can be sold.
- Each item becomes sellable 4 hours after you obtain it, so the first items can be listed from around 7:10 PM CEST today (5:10 PM UTC).
- Items obtained before 3:10 PM CEST on September 28 will never be sellable. They stay in your inventory and work as usual.
We decided to keep items from the first week off the Market to stop it from being flooded with items obtained through cheats or bots. This choice also came from you: in our Discord poll, 77% of voters asked for a Market without items from the first week.
Update your game
Some features are no longer available on the earlier versions of the game. To use all of them, including the Market, update the game to the latest version. Steam usually does this automatically; if it doesn't, restart Steam.
Some Market information currently shown in the game is out of date, and we'll fix it in an upcoming update. The rules in this announcement are the ones that apply.
What you can sell
Sellable: Rare, Epic and Legendary items obtained as drops, and Rare and Epic items crafted at the forge.
Account-bound, never sellable:
- Common, Mythic and Ascended items;
- Legendary items crafted at the forge (dropped Legendaries can be sold);
- the 4 exclusive PvP Boss items;
- items received as compensation from the team;
- items whose rarity was raised by an effect (Collector's Eye, or items with "+X% higher rarity drop chance").
Requirements to sell
- Level 15.
- An account at least 7 days old. If you've been playing since launch, you already meet this; otherwise it counts from when your profile was created.
- 4 hours between obtaining an item and selling it. The updated game shows how much time is left.
- An account in good standing: sanctioned accounts can't sell.
Limits
You can list 4 items per day and 20 per week. The limits don't reset at a fixed time: each slot frees up 24 hours (or 7 days) after you use it.
How to sell
- Select the item and press Sell. The item moves to your Steam Inventory and the Steam overlay opens, where you can list it. If the overlay is disabled, your browser opens instead.
- Moving an item uses one of your slots and can't be undone, even if you don't complete the sale. The game asks you to confirm first.
- Sell isn't available for items that are equipped, locked, or part of a Set. Hover over the button to see why.
- An item listed for sale leaves your in-game inventory; if it was equipped, that slot is left empty. If you cancel the listing within 30 days, the item comes back with its lock. You'll need to equip it and add it to Sets again yourself.
- Items bought on the Market arrive in the game the next time you launch it. If your inventory is full (150 slots, 200 from level 30, 300 from level 60), they wait in your Steam Inventory. Items bought on the Market can't be dismantled into Bloodmarks.
Steam requirements
To use the Market, Steam requires:
- an account that isn't limited (at least $5 spent on Steam);
- Steam Guard enabled for at least 15 days;
- the Steam Mobile Authenticator; without it, listings stay on hold for up to 15 days.
