Hi everyone! This is the September devlog: here is what changed in the game before the demo. The demo arrives in November, so wishlist Roselle Hunt to make sure you don't miss it!
A shop with six slots
We set out to make a game where late game content is available from the first floor: plenty of slots, items of every rarity, complex synergies right at the start. You were met with a suitcase packed to the brim. You could put a build together on floor one and carry it to the end of the run, just leveling items up along the way. It sounded great, and then the playtest showed it only works for people who already know the mechanics. New players got lost in the options, filled their inventory with junk and lost to those who had a working build from the start. All in all, it was not much fun.
The shop now holds six items. Six items are easier to read, and it gave us the room to add different traders for different item clusters.
Inventory: fewer slots early on
The early stages now have a smaller inventory. Fewer slots at the start means fewer reasons to grab everything you see: you can switch strategies more often without losing tempo. This one also comes from your playtest feedback, so write to us on Discord, we read all of it!
New character animations
We are pushing our frame by frame animation further, with sharp jumps between states. Every character got six frame variants for dealing and taking damage, plus a separate death frame.

New character: Albert
*drum roll* Albert: a brute force mage who crushes his enemies with mana and high calorie food. Dumbbells, the Rice Cauldron, all sorts of magic staff and heavy meteorite items like the Meteorite Dumbbell.
Like every other mercenary, Albert hunts Roselle. He has a goal of his own: to work out the secret of the ancient comet and of the new sun above the modular city.
Items wobble now!
The smallest thing we added and the most fun one. Items wobble around nicely when you drag them.
Demo in November!
Wishlist Roselle Hunt so you don't miss the demo and the devlogs that follow. We are going to actively support the demo all the way to the game's release. Come to our Discord and ask us anything!
