Crown of Silence — Major Update v0.2.0 Patch Notes

We are excited to release the first major update for Crown of Silence in Early Access! This patch brings significant improvements to boss encounters, player mechanics, audio, visuals, widescreen support, and overall game balance.

Here is the full breakdown of what’s new and improved:

Boss Improvements

• Bjorn

  • Reworked AI & Attack Algorithms: Attack logic and behaviors have been updated for a smoother combat flow.

  • New Animations: Added brand-new melee attack animations.

  • Dash Attack: Fixed the effective range and targeting of the dash attack.

  • Arena Renewal: Fully updated and redesigned the Bjorn boss fight arena.

    

• Vespera

  • Reworked AI & Attack Algorithms: Refined combat behavior and attack sequencing.

  • Telegraphing & Readability: Distinct wind-up animations added to differentiate the Jump Attack from the Dash Attack, making incoming moves easier to read and react to.

  • Dash Attack: Fixed dash attack range issues.

• Malcaster, Keeper of the Second Death

  • Phase Rework: Completely overhauled the boss phase mechanics and progression structure for a more engaging fight.

    

Player & Combat Mechanics

• Parry & Block: Updated and refined animations for better visual feedback and game feel.

• Widescreen Support:

  • Fixed widescreen resolution bugs and UI scaling issues.

  • Fully polished overall ultrawide display compatibility.

World, Level & Platforming

• Town Updates: Refined lighting, aesthetics, and environmental layout in the main town area.

• Platforming Adjustments: Improved collision and placement across platforming sections.

• Breakable Platforms: Increased the duration/delay before breakable platforms collapse, providing more forgiving platforming windows.

Visuals, Audio & System Fixes

• Cutscenes: Polished and re-sequenced select cutscenes.

• Save System: Resolved critical bugs and edge cases in the save file mechanics.

• Audio: Added fresh, high-quality Sound Effects (SFX) across various gameplay elements.

• Game Balance: Applied overall balance tweaks to combat, encounter difficulty, and player stats.
