Dear Supporters,
It's been about a month since the release of Haven Restored. I have listened to all the feedback and have been working hard on improving the game in the past few weeks. Main thing I wanted to solve is the performance issue, whereby during cleaning, the game will consistently suffer a slight drop in FPS. This is caused by the game constantly checking for number of pixels that have been cleaned, and reading pixels is a very resource demanding task. So to solve this, I tried a few methods to count the cleaned pixels... Finally it has get to a point where it has no impact on performance anymore!
On top of this, I have heard the controls to move an object is clunky and difficult to understand. So in this new update, I have simplified the system and also provided "ground line" to indicate where the item will land if placed. I personally quite like this new method, and I hope you will feel the same too. Here is a preview of the new system:

To sweeten the update, I have also added physics collision for the rubbish. Now, when you are holding a rubbish, it won't clip into other furnitures anymore, it will be blocked instead. Just to add a little bit of realism here.
Lastly, I also wanted to mention the removal of motion blur. In default, Unreal Engine has a small amount of Motion Blur added to a new project. I have now completely removed the motion blur, with this I hope that those who experienced motion sickness earlier, can try it out again to see if the motion sickness is gone.
Thanks for reading and please keep the feedback coming.
Regards,
JH Lee
