Hello! Welcome to the April edition of the Synth Signal - An update and news roundup column about the shmup SynthEscape.
Demo Announcement!
SynthEscape now has a playable public demo! Check it out on the main store page!
The demo contains level 2 (of 5) and is pretty close to how we want the final product to appear. It's fairly stable and has been playtested by at least 50 users on just as many devices, but please do let us know if there are bugs or suggestions! You can use the in-game feedback form or email [email protected] directly.
What about the Playtest?
For those of you in the playtest, we will be keeping it for now. You can think of this as a "Early Access" period where we will be uploading builds with new content. Scoring in the playtest will not count towards the final product, as it's going to change drastically.
Leaderboards?
Leaderboard scores have been reset for the public demo, so if you were on there please check it out and try getting on top again! A few changes have been made to the level. As a thank you, those of you on the leaderboards previously are now in the credits as a special thanks :).
Leaderboards will be reset again when the game releases, but that will be the last reset.
Whats new?
SynthEscape now has...
Japanese Localization
Opt-out telemetry tracking (for development purposes, completely optional)
Dedicated tutorial
Dedicated credits
Changes to level structure, including section 2B.
In-Person Event
Thanks so much to Potions and Pixels for hosting game developer meetups in Charlotte, NC! If you live nearby and would like to check it out and say hi, these will be once a month for the foreseeable future (and I will attempt to make as many as I can).
That's all for now! Thanks from us at RabidTomatoGames.
