Hey everyone, solo dev here! Just pushed a brand-new update featuring a complete overhaul of the Daily Seeded Challenge token economy, an in-game Theme Shop, strict theme unlock validation, and a highly requested Add Steam Friend feature for multiplayer! Here is the full breakdown:
- 🪙 Daily Token Economy & Theme Shop
- Daily Token Rewards: Clear rounds in Daily Challenge mode to earn Daily Tokens (🪙). The farther you push your daily run, the more tokens you accumulate!
- Theme Shop Modal: Open the brand-new Theme Shop from the Options menu or Daily menu to browse cosmetic themes, check your token balance, and unlock new piece and board cosmetics.
- 3 Unlockable Themes:
- 🌌 Cyberpunk: (10 🪙) Neon cyan & magenta pixel art graphics.
- 🏆 Royal Gold: (25 🪙) Metallic gold & dark obsidian board aesthetic.
- 🌿 Emerald Forest: (50 🪙) Mint & emerald botanical theme.
- Strict Theme Unlocking: Theme selection in the Options dropdown now dynamically displays locked themes with price tags (e.g. `🔒 🏆 Royal Gold (25 🪙)`). Selecting an unbought theme auto-resets your dropdown and opens the Theme Shop to prevent accidental equipping.
⚔️ Isolated Daily Challenge Mode
- Standard 16-vs-16 Chess Board: Daily Challenge mode is now completely separated from campaign inventory/masteries. Each round starts with a full standard chess setup (King, Queen, 2 Rooks, 2 Bishops, 2 Knights, 8 Pawns) for both White and Black.
- 0.2x Enemy Level Scaling: Black enemy pieces scale by +0.2x stats per level (`levelMult = 1 + (level - 1) * 0.2`), scaling up difficulty as you advance through the daily run!
- Daily Seed Modifiers: Daily modifiers (Glass Cannon, Heavy Armor, Brute Swarm, Bounty Hunter, Vampiric Battlefield, Speed Chess) apply on top for both colors.
🤝 Add Steam Friend Integration
- In-Game Live HUD Button: Added a ➕ ADD FRIEND button directly under the opponent's clock card on the right-side HUD during multiplayer matches.
- Game Over Screen Integration: Added a ➕ ADD STEAM FRIEND button on the multiplayer match completion modal (Victory / Defeat).
- Steam Overlay & Fallback: Automatically opens the native Steam Community Friend Request overlay inside the game (`activateGameOverlayToUser`), with an automatic fallback to `steam://friends/add/`.
