I apologize for the lack of updates, I honestly forgot to make a post.
I am all healed up since the appendix mess, and have been working on the upcoming patch for a few weeks now.
The patch brings some pretty massive changes to the way buildings are constructed. No longer will you place individual buildings on the planet. Instead you will place a "City" with a limited number of places where you can construct specific buildings. As the city population grows, more building slots will open up.
The goal of this change is to make it more fun to manage your planet. Watching your city, or cities, grow beats looking at a bunch of random buildings.
It will also mean some information becomes much clearer, for example population statuses and what is affecting them.
In addition buildings will now affect other nearby buildings, for example: placing a factory right next to a farm will have negative consequences for the farms productivity.
Another new system is the Unique resources. They will replace the currently unused "Planet bonus #". The patch will launch with a handful of Unique resources, and the plan is to add more later. The Unique resources will provide various bonuses ranging from simply being another source of raw materials such as Iron, all the way to empire-wide bonuses. To use them you will need to construct a new building, the Laboratory.
And of course you will be able to trade Unique resources.
And last but not least, military ships will finally become available.
You will be able to construct fighters, and carriers to transport them around. Form fleets, and send them on missions in the asteroid belts/planets/space.
These missions will be how you get Artifacts in the future. However Artifacts will not be in this patch as they need to be updated for the new City system.
You will also not be able to send fleets to other star systems in this update. But if there are multiple people in the same system you will be able to have your fleets do combat.
As always, you can find the patch notes here or via www.godsandidols.com/upcoming/
I will also try to remember to post updates here more frequently. Exciting times ahead!
