Hello to all you super diligent testers,

Thank you for reporting this problem under Proton/Steam Deck (Linux).:

Super small fix for Linux/Steam Deck - path checks, should no work as intended.

Have fun and we always appreciate valuable feedback.

Heartfelt postscript:
Developing a game on your own (plus story helpers, friends) isn't easy and involves a lot of work, but it's also incredibly fun! <3

In the end, only one thing matters... that it's a fun experience and provides a good time.
