Hello everyone!

It's been about two months since the last development update. During this time I've been focused on improving the core gameplay experience, expanding city planning tools, refining logistics, and adding a large number of quality-of-life improvements based on development testing.

Here's what has been added and improved.

🏙️ City Planning Improvements

City planning has received several new features to make building and managing your nation much easier.

• City Limits & Buildable Area – Residential construction is now restricted to a city's buildable area. Expand your city by constructing City Limits buildings as your city levels up, allowing for continued growth.
• Toggle Service Buildings – Service buildings can now be temporarily enabled or disabled, making it easier to optimize operating costs and maximize city profits.
• Tax System – Cities now support taxation mechanics, adding another layer of strategic decision making.
• Open City Information from the Nation Map – View city statistics and policies without entering the city.
• Load a City Directly from the Information panel – Jump straight into city management from the city information panel.
• City Establishment Date – Track when each city was founded.
• Three Quick Jump Locations – Save frequently used map locations for faster navigation across your nation.

🚛 Logistics & Industry

The logistics network continues to expand with new mechanics and improvements.

• Recipe Time – Production recipes now require multiple game ticks to complete instead of finishing instantly. Production chains now take time, making planning, throughput, and resource flow more important.
• Storage Consumption Priority – Choose which storages are used to satisfy city consumption, preventing logistics warehouses from being unintentionally drained by citizens.
• Crossover Building – Allow two connections to intersect without interfering with each other.
• Shipping Lanes – Define navigation lanes across oceans and lakes to organize maritime transportation.
• Remember Last Transfer Quantity – Connections now remember the previously selected transfer amount.
• Route Colors – Assign colors to routes to better organize and identify logistics networks.
• Vehicle Load Visuals – Loaded and empty vehicles are now visually distinct.
• Train and Ship assets – Transportation feels smoother and easier to follow.

⚡ Quality of Life

Many frequently used tools have been improved to reduce repetitive actions.

• Expanded Pipette Tool – The Pipette tool now copies an entire building layout, including supported extensions, allowing you to quickly recreate complex production setups with minimal effort.
• Drag placement, upgrading, and bulldozing improvements.
• Press–drag–release placement for faster connection building.
• Force construction option that automatically clears blocking structures before building.
• Building highlighting when selected.
• Industrial buildings now display recipe information directly.

⚙️ Settings & Accessibility

• Fully rebindable keyboard shortcuts.
• Improved responsive audio adjustment options.
• Adjustable game speed to match your preferred pace.

🎨 Art & Visual Improvements

• New resource icons throughout the game.
• Border rendering has been upgraded while also improving performance.
• Additional visual polish across transportation systems.

⚖️ Balancing

A balance pass has been completed across several gameplay systems.
This includes adjustments to:

• Recipes
• Construction resources
• City Points progression
• Building prototypes
• Citizen consumption

These changes are intended to improve pacing and create a smoother progression throughout the game.

As always, thank you for following NationForge's development. Every update brings the game closer to the vision of building and managing an entire nation—from city planning and industry to transportation and logistics.

The next development updates will focus on continuing to improve gameplay depth, performance, and visual polish.

Thanks for your continued support, and as always, feedback and suggestions are greatly appreciated!
