Game Optimization
I changed the game state saving system. Previously, the game was saved in real time. Now the game state is saved every 5 minutes, and after returning to the menu it is possible to load a backup. The last 15 save files are stored.
I also optimized the destruction of base structures. Large attacks on the base used to cause the game to freeze when many structures were being destroyed at the same time. I added a destruction queue and reduced the number of particle effects triggered by explosions.
I also optimized repairing multiple structures at once. During repairs, the miner and drones used to cause the game to stutter when many objects were being repaired simultaneously. I added a repair queue and reduced repair effects.
Destruction of Structures by Enemies
Previously, buildings whose HP dropped to 0 were permanently destroyed, and the base container received materials for level 1 of the building. Now a building is not completely destroyed. When its HP drops to 0, it becomes a ruin and provides no functionality until it is rebuilt.
The rebuilding cost requires resources appropriate for the building’s current level and does not require survivors or technicians. A ruined building, if destroyed, does not return any materials.
Demolishing Built Structures
Previously, when demolishing a building above level 1, the player received materials from level 1 only. Now the returned materials correspond to the building’s current level.
Return to Base
While in the ship, after clicking the return-to-base option, an additional panel is displayed where the target base or the selected point can be chosen.
Crosshair and Arrows
I fixed the display of directional arrows leading to the base and the selected point, as well as the target marker, which previously shifted sideways.
