We are releasing a smaller patch this week as we have mainly focused on new boss Silvissira and new content.
New Ambient Music
Thanks to the brilliant work of @OpenSkyStudios we now have ambient music in Winds of Valen. Four new tracks: Adventure, Town, Fields and Forest will now play based on where you are in the world. This brings the ambience to these areas that we always wanted.
We have plans to add more tracks for each of the current and future areas in the game. This is coming soon.
Performance Warnings
We have received a lot of feedback recently of players experiencing lag. Any sort of lag can completely destroy the smooth experience we want to provide.
To get better feedback, we have implemented a 'performance warning system' which will show a warning in the top right corner if any of the metrics that can cause lag are in a bad state. If you experience lag while playing, let us know what warnings are showing and that will help us diagnose problems much faster.
There are a total of 7 possible warnings; Low FPS, Low Server FPS, Hitch, Server Hitch, High Ping, Packet Loss, and High Byte Rate.
New Hidden Collectable Items (F2P and Members)
We have added a total of 6 new hidden items to be collected across Valen. These items are quite rare, have no dry protection, and will not be visible in the loot table until dropped for the first time.
The aim is for these items to not be part of main character progression, but instead be a nice collectable for players who are interested.
Balance
Bandit Mercenary Boss Mud Root drop is now noted.
Elf Warden Elven Cloth drop is now noted.
Increased The Burning King's XP gain amount by 20%.
Buffed Darklands Knights key droprate.
Tweaked value of Corrupted Scimitar and Pickaxe.
Increased max range NPCs will travel from spawn location before giving up from 2200 units to 3500 units. Aim is to improve kiting gameplay.
Quality of Life
Trade and Follow options added to Inspect dropdown for players.
Inspecting now auto shows the Inspect window.
Added new keybinds for toggling Inspect window (Default: Tab) and Inspect (right mouse button).
