Hello Everyone!

Welcome to this weeks Dev Post, where we want to talk about the building in EverRail, and how you can turn the train from an empty shell to a home base on wheels, with all of the things you’ll need to not only survive the Tracklands, but, eventually, even thrive!

So, let’s get into it shall we?

The Train as a Base.

The train is not just the way you transport your team from one place to another, it’s also your base of operations, home and sanctuary from the punishing environment of the Tracklands. There are different types of carriage, which can be modified to suit the purposes you need.

Multi Level Building.

The train is, for want of a better word, huge. You’ll find that the inside of the various carriages can be split into two levels, allowing you to really focus what you want each of them to do, and how you want to organise your mobile base. You can build crafting stations, storage and aesthetic upgrades, truly allowing you to personalise your train the way you want.

Free Form Placement.

The items you can build don’t have pre planned locations, you can place anything wherever you want, with total free form placement in 3D. This means that the train’s interior can truly become yours, unlike anyone else’s. It also means we’ve had to make sure that things don’t constantly collide, which has been a challenge, but one we’ve really enjoyed!

With all the possibilities, it’s also really easy to forget which chest stores what, or which bench does what, so we’ve created fully customisable signs which you can place at your pleasure, allowing you to mark out what you’ve put where, and making it far easier to organise your space.
