Hello Everyone!
Welcome to this weeks Dev Post, where we’re going to cover how you survive the Tracklands, and also a reminder about our upcoming playtest!
Without further ado, let’s get into it!
The Ice Wastes Don’t Forgive
Beyond the train lies a frozen graveyard.
Temperatures collapse without warning. Winds scream across the rails. Visibility vanishes in seconds. Every step away from the warmth of your railcar is a calculated risk, and sometimes a fatal one.
Expeditions are roguelike.
When you die, you lose everything you were carrying.
No checkpoints. No respawns. No second chances.
Out here, survival is never guaranteed.
Your Lifeline: The Battery
Everything runs on power.
The train. Your equipment. Your chance of getting home.
The moment the train slows, the battery begins to drain. Every second off the rails is borrowed time.
If the battery reaches zero, the expedition is over — permanently.
Battery Protocol
Battery drain begins as soon as the train decelerates
Power continues to fall while you’re away from the rails
Return before it’s empty
If the battery dies, so do you
There are no exceptions.
Resource Scavenging
Survival starts with what you can carry.
The ice conceals abandoned structures, buried technology, and forgotten supplies — but not everything hidden beneath the surface wants to be found.
Primary Resources
Scrap: Raw materials used for crafting tools, weapons, and train upgrades
Tech: Electronic components required for advanced crafting and systems
Rations: Food supplies needed to keep rescued passengers alive
Iso Gas: A rare resource used in batteries and high-end technology
Crafting for Survival
You won’t last long without the right equipment.
Crafting isn’t optional, it’s how you adapt, upgrade, and push farther into the wasteland. We’ll be covering more about crafting in a future dev post!

A Reminder About Our Super-Secret Playtest!
We’re starting a super secret playtest this week, and if you’d like to take part you stilll can! You’ll need to sign an NDA (you must be 18+) with your name and address, which we’ll send you if you email us at
with the following information:
PC Specs
Discord username (so we can connect your email to your Discord account - you will need to join our Discord to take part in the test)
Confirmation you are over 18
We'll then reach out to you, and once you've signed an NDA, we can get you into the playtest!
