Hi everyone,
I just released a big update for the Open Land demo.
This update adds several new features, improvements, and quality-of-life changes based on the direction I want to take the game next.
Main additions:
New robots and items to build
Bot task list / queue
Hydro Bots that collect water and bring it to storage
Bot configuration options
Gamepad support
Improved animal AI (They now can get startled)
More activity and movement in restored environments
Mac OS Build
If you have a Steam Deck to test the Demo, I'd love some feedback on how well it runs on Steam Deck.
The biggest change is that robots now have a larger role in the game. They are not just there to clean trash anymore. They can now help with resource collection too, which makes the restored world feel more alive and automated.
Animals have also been improved, so they behave more naturally in the environment and react better to what is happening around them.
This update is still part of the demo, so feedback is very helpful. If you try it, I’d love to hear what works, what feels confusing, and what you would like to see improved.
Thanks for playing and following the development of Open Land.
