Hi everyone!
I'm happy to announce that the demo version of DEORUM will be part of Steam Next Fest, starting June 15th!
To celebrate the occasion, we've prepared a major update for the demo, and it's available right now.
We've updated the demo to better reflect the feedback we've received from you, as well as many of the improvements we've been working on for the full release. Here are some of the highlights:
Gameplay Improvements
Alongside numerous tweaks and additions, you can now try out new features such as:
Interactive story scenes.
New monsters (and bosses!) lurking within the first two dungeon layers.
A full dungeon map and an improved minimap for exploration.
Rings – rare relics that grant useful powers and let you personalize your appearance.
Collection – track all the coins and enemies you've encountered so far.
Inspiration – earn this rare currency and unlock skill tree upgrades quicker.
2 new achievements to unlock.
Audiovisual Improvements
Combat encounters now feel more brutal thanks to improved animations and sound effects.
Dungeon interiors now feature greater variety and unique set pieces.
The home area has been updated with new detailed art assets.
You can now choose 1 of 3 character appearances!
Story Improvements
We've redesigned many aspects of the story to better capture the atmosphere we're aiming for.
The demo now features an illustrated introduction sequence. You'll also be able to choose your character's background, which determines both your appearance and your story skills.
Story skills?
Yes! Several scenes throughout the game now feature Coin Flip Skill Checks. Successfully passing these checks can reward you with gameplay bonuses or reveal additional lore details.
We sincerely hope you enjoy the update, and we're happy to hear your feedback!
Thanks!
Patryk
Note on save compatibility
Due to the extensive changes made to the game's flow and structure, saves from previous demo versions are not compatible with this update. We apologize for the inconvenience.
As for save compatibility between the demo and the full release version, we're currently looking into it, but we can't make any guarantees yet.
