Welcome to a round up of the week! We have champions, cards, lore and more!
Champions of War
On Monday, Corey Burkhart covered what new champions you can expect to throw down with in Scars of War. As each faction begins to work more closely together, everyone will have to pick a side. Are you Ardent or Underworld? These champions will reward you greatly for your allegiance. Will these new heroes be your greatest allies or your most fearsome foes? Read on for details!
An Uncomfortable Beginning
As war consumes Entrath, a hopeful fate unfolds. Under the watchful gaze of the Hex comet, a small band ventures ever deeper into the Feralroot. Last Wednesday, the lore team shared an intriguing short story and several exciting new cards. The full text is available here.
Account Card Changes
With Scars of War, our first two sets—Shards of Fate and Shattered Destiny—are rotating out. We want every account that starts out to have decks which are legal in Standard play. For this reason, we will be granting the following 50 new cards to all accounts.
2 Ardent Decree
3 Ashwood Firebrand
3 Blazing Hammer
1 Brightmoon Brave
3 Canyon Howler
3 Dread Botonist
3 Fiend of Nulzann
3 Goliath Spiderspawn
3 Gust Mage
3 Horned Giraffe
3 Livid Buffalo
3 Patrol Bot
3 Sapper’s Wallbuster
3 Siegesaurus
3 Skittering Dark
3 Tanker Trunk
2 Underworld Decree
3 Wakizashi Warbunny
These cards will be used to create two new Standard Legal decks and will be granted to everyone, old and new accounts alike.
Scars of War Spoilers
I've gotten word by carrier pigeon that the mercenary we glimpsed briefly in the sky is too rare and shy to stay for long. Where is his natural habitat? Perhaps Lord Bernard P. Dunthorpe knows. In the meantime, let's turn our gaze downward to something earthier.
This epic orc caries a piece of the Mountain God himself. Give it up for Thulgrund! So, how would you rock out with this mercenary? Let us know in the forums below.
