Hi everyone, I've been working mostly towards exploration improvements and some flow/bugs fixes. Also I made a discord for the game!
You can get in here:
Exploration:
This is the biggest change in this update.
In the previous version, all rooms were triggered randomly and you can improve your chances of getting special rooms.
Now I changed it to be a real map of the house. Special rooms are triggered by entering in those rooms, and you can reach new ones if you explore further on (advantage to The Adventurer here).
The initial exploration skill is still wandering randomly in a house, but now with a random walker algorithm.
You can upgrade to choose your direction if you have a SENSE OF DIRECTION.
Related to this I added:
Four more special rooms
Lots of new rooms drawings
Information unlocks: Closest room, map, equipment, log, food, backgrounds and more.
More polish in future updates.
Balance:
Buffed a little bit the chatty. They have more chance of avoiding your family with conversation modifiers
Mom interventions are toned down and now she has some variations.
UI:
Removed log texts from Mind Ideas and made more strict how logs are printed to avoid long chains of texts.
Ability buttons are slowed down.
Tidy up the ending and title screen.
Other content:
Added a few new Alcohol Events. Polished a bit the toast event.
Your familiars now store an opinion of you and have individual traits (more of this on a future update).
Bugs:
Fixed a performance bug (FPS drop) that made everything slow down at the end on Windows Builds. Given the theme of the game, nobody report it because they thought it was intended . Let me know if the issue is still there!
Events:
The game was exhibited at BLON festival last weekend at Klaipeda, Lithuania . It was a finalist for the Game Aware Awards. My Friend ,María Victoria Rodriguez .was there representing the game. She told me that it was an amazing event.
I will try to make another update for early October.
Thanks for your support,
Leandro
