The flexible docking system from 1.5.0 now works fully on Linux: drag tabs to reorder them, tear them off into their own windows and dock them across your monitors, all with a cursor-following drag preview that matches the Windows and macOS experience. This release also fixes an audio regression so advance-on-end works on every channel, resolves a rare silent quit when opening certain projects, and irons out a cross-window layout loop. A round of Linux polish — a proper taskbar icon, system-accurate date and time formatting, and no more focus-stealing on GNOME — rounds it out.
What's New
New Features
Flexible Docking on Linux: The drag-and-drop docking introduced in 1.5.0 now works fully on Linux
Drag tabs to reorder them, pull a tab off into its own window, and move tabs between windows
Dock a tab to any edge to split a window, or drop it onto another window to hand it over
A cursor-following drag preview shows exactly where a tab will land, matching Windows and macOS
Releasing a tab away from any dock zone opens it in a new window, with a clear “New Window” hint
Improvements
Accessibility: Editor tabs now use DOM-safe IDs so screen readers resolve their ARIA relationships correctly
Titlebar: The window version pill is now outlined instead of filled, for a lighter look
Linux Polish: The app ships a proper window icon so the taskbar resolves it, formats dates and times using your system’s conventions, and no longer steals focus with notifications when a window is restored or docked on GNOME
Bug Fixes
Audio: “Advance on end” now works on any audio channel, not just the dialogue channel — a regression introduced with 1.5.0’s audio channels
Project Open: Fixed a rare silent app quit when opening certain projects, and the editor now recovers gracefully if a window fails to create instead of getting stuck
Docking & Windows: Fixed a cross-window split-size feedback loop that could freeze the editor, and resolved several Linux cross-window docking issues — no more surprise detaches into new windows, accidental detaches on Escape or same-window drops, or a brief gap flash when docking onto a tab bar
