Hi everyone!
The Stream Train playtest weekend is finally here 🎉
About the playtest
The Stream Train Playtest is a limited version of the game built specifically for this event. The main ways that the playtest differs from the release version are listed below:
- The playtest is a designed experience: Stream Train will contain procedurally generated, run-based, gameplay, but the playtest is designed as a single level that does not change.
- The length of the Uncanny Valley is halved: The playtest will end part way through the level with a call to action to give feedback.
- Respawning is WIP: Players can revive each other when they are downed, but there is no respawn when you die for real. We aim to fix this over the weekend while the playtest is active.
- Balance is a work in progress: We are currently working on the Donation and Shop economy
Invite your friends!
We have officially granted access to XXXX players. If you are one of the lucky participants, you should see Stream Train Playtest in your library already (you will have also received an email). All players with access to the game can invite up to 4 Steam friends to the playtest and jump into the game right now!
Give us your feedback
We have created a feedback form for players to fill out after they have tried the game. The form has a few different sections and is designed to give us broad quantitative data about your experience: https://hpy.lol/feedback
For more specific feedback about your experience with the game, you can post on the Community Hub, or on our Discord. We will be active over the weekend answering questions, fixing bugs, and taking notes, but please remember that we need to sleep. We are working in the CEST time zone and we might not be awake when you are.
Bug Reporting
While this playtest is primarily for player feedback, bugs are unfortunately inevitable. If you come across a bug, please fill out the Bug Report Form that we have set up here: https://hpy.lol/BugReport
Posting bugs anywhere else makes it less likely that we can track it and less likely that we can fix it before launch. We have set up the form so that we have one location to monitor during the weekend (and beyond).
Stream Train releases on October 15th
If you didn't get access to the playtest, don't worry. Stream Train is releasing very soon! Remember to wishlist the game if you haven't already and follow the project if you want to stay up to date with news in the run up to launch.
