Hello there, I'm back with another update to give you all a better idea on when to expect the 2nd act.
It's the end of Q3 and I am nearing the end stages of production now; finishing up the script, editing, and soon to introduce beta readers. Once October starts I will be focusing on painting the new scenes and starting the process of getting ACT 2 voiced, then I will be touching up the new functions related to the investigation gameplay.
At this stage I cannot precisely say when all of the artwork will be ready for the release, but if there are any delays it will likely be due to that needing more time or requiring more funds for the voice actors. You can also expect for there to be even more backgrounds added to ACT 1 and 2 post-major updates.
Within November, the game will be play tested to ensure everything is up to standard and then an official release date will be announced for ACT 2 and just ACT 1 will turn into a free demo. (Don't worry, you guys who already paid for ACT 1 will still own the FULL game) I'll be putting most of my focus on the marketing once the demo's out so more people can get a taste of what To Be Altered is all about right before the big release.
There has been a minor setback in regards to the original sound track with new and pre-existing songs, and right now that is a road that still in the dark. Some of the songs must be remade and updated. The quality of them is not the best consistency that I want for the final game either and I want to hire a professional to touch them up and use higher quality instruments. Unfortunately it might be unrealistic to have that completed before the end of the year. Whatever happens, if the new versions aren't ready in time I will continue to use the current songs as placeholders but some songs for certain events in act 2 might be missing until a later patch update. I wish I had the time to organise it now, but I have a lot on my plate as is with the current production. The writing, art, and voice acting comes first!
As always, a huge thanks to those supporting To Be Altered. It's almost been a full year since ACT 1 came out and so much has happened since then. I highly recommend a replay to refresh your memory! I know people expect a game such as this to have a faster production rate but I'm allowing myself to go at my own pace; I don't want to rush any part of it so that it can be the best quality it can be. :)
See you all later! Don't forget to uhh... stay altered!
