In the southern lands of the Sphere, where the hot sun melts stone, there is a legend about a demon shaman named Ashwad. He did not seek power, but merely wanted to better understand the souls of beasts. He believed he could subjugate them and, with their power, vanquish humans forever.
Deep in the canyons, the shaman collected the souls of fallen animals. And having collected countless of them, he realized he could no longer harness such immense power. So he imprisoned the souls in the Mirror of the Beast. Unable to tame the power hidden within the artifact, Ashwad abandoned the gorge. Before doing so, he sealed the passage so that no one could reach the dangerous mirror.
They say it can still be found. But anyone who looks into it will see millions of glowing eyes. These are souls, disembodied and driven mad by their imprisonment. And if the Mirror is broken, the Sphere will be overwhelmed by a wave of pure, animal anger that cannot be stopped by either sword or magic.
