An unusual and useful member of the crew was a monkey nicknamed Kirtan. She was picked up after one of the raids on the human camp. From there, the demons took everything they could: gold, folios, crystals, magic tools, and at the same time grabbed an exotic animal.

When they began to divide the spoils, they wanted to abandon the monkey and throw it overboard. But Sol said that he had seen the same animal in a traveling circus. So he decided to keep the animal and teach it the intricacies of sea life.

Kirtan, as the monkey was called, was ill-suited for ship life. He could not tie knots, shoot, or help in the kitchen. The only thing he could do was carry gunpowder. But thanks to this, the ship could fire quickly, which repeatedly saved Sol's pirates in battles with superior enemy forces.
