🚀 Rebranding & Next Steps: From "A Game About Clicking a Button" to DOTScape
Hey everyone,
time for some important news! After several prototypes and community playtests, we’ve decided it’s time to take the next big step with our quirky button-clicking project.
❌ What’s changing
• No more “A Game About Clicking a Button”: The project is rebranding to DOTScape.
• Perspective shift: Instead of the old static look, we’re switching to a new, more dynamic camera style.
• Less idle, more action: We’re removing the idle grind aspect – the focus is now on fast reactions and fun gameplay loops.
• Visual overhaul: Graphics are getting a new, cleaner look that fits better with multiplayer chaos.
• Multiplayer support: Yes – you’ll finally be able to jump into matches with friends (and rivals).
• Steam adjustments: Names, images, and descriptions will all be updated as soon as Steam approves the rebranding. We’re hopeful this will happen within this month.
🤔 Why the change?
While the original concept had its charm, our playtests showed one big issue: the fun factor simply wasn’t there. Clicking a button worked as a gimmick, but it didn’t hold up in longer sessions.
So we went back to the drawing board, prototyped a lot, and tested with real players. The clear feedback: “More game, less gimmick.”
✨ Enter DOTScape
DOTScape is our answer – a game about speed, timing, and competition, still rooted in the original idea of interaction with buttons, but now built to be fun, replayable, and social.
It’s a fresh start, but one that carries over the spirit of the original concept.
